backplaneisinstalledonthelowerhard-disk-drivecage.

cable.Connectthemini-SASconnector3ononeendofthecabletotheport2ontheRAIDcard.

Tosupportmorethaneightanduptosixteen2.5-inchharddiskdrives,yourservermusthaveasupported
RAIDcardandanexpandercardinstalled.YouneedtoconnectcablesfromtheRAIDcardtotheexpander
card,andthenfromtheexpandercardtothebackplanes.
UsethefollowinginstructionstoconnectcablesfromtheRAIDcardtotheexpandercardfirst:
•IfyouareusingaThinkServerRAID500Adapter,dothefollowing:
1.Useamini-SAStomini-SASsignalcableandconnectthemini-SASconnectorononeendofthe
cabletotheport0ontheThinkServerRAID500Adapter.Then,connectthemini-SASconnectoron
theotherendofthecabletotheconnector1ontheexpandercard.
