StrategyforreplacingFRUs

Beforereplacingparts:

UsethefollowingstrategytopreventunnecessaryexpenseforreplacingandservicingFRUs:

•IfyouareinstructedtoreplaceaFRUbutthereplacementdoesnotcorrecttheproblem,reinstall

theoriginalFRUbeforeyoucontinue.

•Sometabletshavebothaprocessorboardandasystemboard.Ifyouareinstructedtoreplaceeither

theprocessorboardorthesystemboard,andreplacingoneofthemdoesnotcorrecttheproblem,

reinstallthatboard,andthenreplacetheotherone.

•IfanadapteroradeviceconsistsofmorethanoneFRU,anyoftheFRUsmaybethecauseoftheerror.

Beforereplacingtheadapterordevice,removetheFRUs,onebyone,toseeifthesymptomschange.

ReplaceonlytheFRUthatchangedthesymptoms.

Attention:Thesetupcongurationonthetabletyouareservicingmayhavebeencustomized.Running

AutomaticCongurationmayalterthesettings.Notethecurrentcongurationsettings(usingtheView

Congurationoption);then,whenservicehasbeencompleted,verifythatthosesettingsremainineffect.
