Replacingthediagnosticmoduleforservermodelswith2.5-inchhard-disk-drive
bays
Attention:Donotopenyourserverorattemptanyrepairbeforereadingandunderstanding“Safetyinformation”
onpageiii
and“Guidelines”onpage85.
Toreplacethediagnosticmoduleforservermodelswith2.5-inchhard-disk-drivebays,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaflat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage87.
4.Removethefrontbezel.See“Removingandreinstallingthefrontbezel”onpage89.
5.Removethecoolingshroud.See“Removingandreinstallingthecoolingshroud”onpage95.
6.Locatethediagnosticmodule.See“Componentsofservermodelswith2.5-inchhard-disk-drivebays”
onpage37.
7.Removetheleftcage.See“Removingandreinstallingtheleftcage”onpage97.
8.Removethefrontpanelboard.See“Replacingthefrontpanelboardforservermodelswith2.5-inch

9.Disconnectthecablefromtherearofthediagnosticmodule.
10.Pressthereleasetab1inthedirectionasshownandthenpushthediagnosticmoduleoutofthe
frontoftheleftcage.
