ToremovetheRAIDcard,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage87.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
4.RemovethePCIcardbracketassembly.See“RemovingandreinstallingthePCIcardbracket
assembly”onpage91.
5.LocatetheRAIDcard,whichisinstalledinthePCI-Eslot3onthesystemboard.See“Systemboard
components”onpage45.
6.Removeanypartsordisconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouroperation.
7.DisconnectallcablesfromtheRAIDcardandanyotherrelatedparts.
Note:IfyouwanttoinstallanewRAIDcardafterremovingtheoldone,recordthecableconnections
beforedisconnectingthecables.
8.TheRAIDcardisakindofPCIcard.See“RemovingaPCIcard”onpage100andfollowthose
instructionstoremovetheRAIDcard.
Note:CarefullyhandletheRAIDcardbyitsedges.
9.Dependingonyourspecificserverconfiguration,youmightneedtoconnecttheSATAharddiskdrives
totheSATAconnectorsonthesystemboardifnoRAIDcardisinstalled.See“Connectingthecables”
onpage39
.
10.IfyouareinstructedtoreturntheoldRAIDcard,followallpackaginginstructionsanduseanypackaging
materialsthataresuppliedtoyouforshipping.
