restartagain,thenreinstalltheclient.
•Symptom:WhenenteringtheBIOSversionintotheBIOSversionexcludelistforThinkCentresystem,the
lastcharacteroftheBIOSversioncannotbeenteredintothetextboxintheAdminConsole.
Problemdescription:TheproblemisbecausetheHardwarePasswordManagerserversupportsa
maximumof8charactersfortheBIOSversion.ThinkCentresystemshavea9characterBIOSversion.

Problemdescription:Thisproblemoccurswhenrestoringasystemfromabackupthatwastakenpriorto
registeringinHardwarePasswordManager.WhenenrollinginHardwarePasswordManager,theuser's
WindowscredentialsarestoredinsecurestoragewithintheWindowsCAPIkeystore.Furthermore,the
associationbetweentheWindowscredentialandtheintranetaccountismaintained.
Whenrestoringasystemtoapointpriortotheuserbeingenrolledin
HardwarePasswordManager,
theCAPIkeystorecanbelost(sinceitisstoredintheWindowsregistry),whichmeanstheWindows
credentialsandassociationswiththeintranetaccountarelosteventhoughthesystemisactually
registered.Inthiscase,theclientapplicationwillcontinuetopromptyoutoenroll(ifpolicyindicatestodo
so).Furthermore,ifyoutrytoenrollandyouspecifythesameintranetaccountasyoupreviouslyusedto
enroll,theclientapplicationwillfailindicatingyoualreadyenrolled.Ifyouweretoenrollagainusinga
differentintranetaccount,theclientapplicationwillallowtheenrolltocomplete–nowyouwillhavetwo
hardwareaccountsassociatedwiththesameWindowsaccount(whichisnotrecommended).
Solution:Topreventthisproblemfromoccurring,makesureyourbackupistakenafterthesystemis
registeredin
HardwarePasswordManager(whenusingRescueandRecoveryoranybackuptoolthat
performsafulldiskbackup,forexample.
