TousetheThinkPadTabletPen,holdthepenandgentlytouchthescreenwiththetiptoaccomplish
actionssuchastouch,touchandhold,drag,andslide.Youalsocantouchanitemorablankareawith
thepentipandthenpresstheactivebutton1toimitateatouch-and-holdoperation.Todraganddropan
objectwiththepen,pressandholdtheactionbutton
1,touchtheobjectwiththepentip,andthen
dragtheobjecttothedesiredlocation.
Ifthebatterypowerrunsout,theactivebutton1stopsfunctioning.Unscrewthebatterycap2andremove
ittoreplacethebattery.
Whendrawingorwritingwiththepen,holdthepenverticallytoachievethebestlinequality.
Note:TheThinkPadTabletPenusesoneAAAAalkalinebattery.
Usethepeninsteadofyourngerinthefollowingconditions:
•Whenyouneedpreciseanddetailedinput,suchasdrawingapictureorusinghandwritingmode
•Whentoomanyelementsarecrowdedonthescreen,forexample,whenyouareplayinggames
•Ifyouwanttokeepyourscreenfreefromsmudges
•Ifyouhavelongngernailsanditisdifcultforyoutotype
WhenyouareusingtheThinkPadTabletPen,youcandisablethengerinteractionwiththescreento
avoidaccidentalinputbyngerorhandtouch.Todisablethengerinteractionwiththescreen,doeither
ofthefollowing:
•OpentheQuickSettingspanelandswitchonPenonly.
•GototheAndroidSettingsscreenandtouchDisplay➙UsePenOnlyforTouchEvents.
YourtabletprovidesastorageslotandstringholesfortheThinkPadTabletPen.Whenyouarenotusingthe
ThinkPadTabletPen,storeitinthetablet.Ifyouneedtousethepenfrequently,stringthepentothestring
holestoavoidlosingit.Tolocatethestorageslotandstringholes,see“Tabletlayout”onpage1
.
Screenlockmode
Usethescreenlockmodetopreventunauthorizedaccesstoyourdatawhenthetabletisnotinuse.
Tolockthescreen,pressthepowerbuttononce.Thescreengoesblankandthetabletentersintosleep
modeinseconds.
Tounlockthescreen,pressthepowerbuttonagaintobringupthelockedscreen.Thentouchanddragthe
lockicon
totherightuntilitcirclestheunlockicon.
