TheEthernetconnector0forsystemmanagementis82574Lbydefault.Ifyouhaveselectedsharemode
forthe82574LEthernetconnectorintheSetupUtilityprogram,youcanusetheconnectorasanordinary
Ethernetconnectorwith100Mbpsnetworkconnectivity.However,teamingwithotherEthernetconnectors
isnotsupportedifthemanagementEthernetconnectorisusedasanordinaryEthernetconnector.
TosetthemodeoftheEthernetconnector0intheSetupUtilityprogram,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage47.
2.OntheServerManagementmenu,selectBMCNetworkConguration➙BMCLANShareSetting.
3.Dooneofthefollowing:
•IfyouwanttousetheEthernetconnector0asanordinaryEthernetconnector,selectShared.
•IfyouwanttousetheEthernetconnector0asadedicatedsystemmanagementEthernetconnector,
selectDedicated.
4.PressF10tosavesettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.
ExitingtheSetupUtilityprogram
Afteryounishviewingorchangingsettings,pressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammaininterface.
Ifyouareonanestedsubmenu,pressEscrepeatedlyuntilyoureachthemaininterface.Then,youcando
oneofthefollowingtoexittheSetupUtilityprogram:
•IfyouwanttosavethenewsettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram,pressF10orselectSave&Exit➙
SaveChangesandExit.Otherwise,yourchangeswillnotbesaved.
•Ifyoudonotwanttosavethenewsettings,selectSave&Exit➙DiscardChangesandExit.
•Ifyouwanttoreturntothedefaultsettings,pressF9orselectSave&Exit➙RestoreDefaults.

UpdatingorrecoveringtheBIOS
ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoupdatetheBIOSandhowtorecoverfromaPOSTandBIOS
updatefailure.
Systemprogramsarethebasiclayerofsoftwarebuiltintoyourserver.SystemprogramsincludethePOST,
theUEFIBIOS,theSetupUtilityprogram,andtheTMMrmware.ThePOSTisasetoftestsandprocedures
thatareperformedeachtimeyouturnonyourserver.TheUEFIBIOSisalayerofsoftwarethattranslates
instructionsfromotherlayersofsoftwareintoelectricalsignalsthattheserverhardwarecanexecute.You
canusetheSetupUtilityprogramtovieworchangethecongurationsettingsofyourserver.See“Usingthe
SetupUtilityprogram”onpage47.TheTMMrmwareprovidesremotemanagementfeatures.
LenovomightmakechangesandenhancementstotheBIOSandTMMrmware.Whenupdatesarereleased,
theyareavailablefordownloadontheLenovoWebsiteathttp://www.lenovo.com/drivers.Youcanupdate
theserverrmwarebydownloadinganupdatepackageandfollowingtheinstructionsontheWebpage.
