1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage67.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
4.IfaPCIcardbracketassemblyisinstalledinyourserver,removethePCIcardbracketassembly.See
“RemovingandreinstallingthePCIcardbracketassembly”onpage71.
5.LocateaPCIExpresscardslotonthesystemboardforinstallingtheEthernetcard.Youcaninstallthe
EthernetcardtothePCI-Eslot2thatsupportsacardwith167mm(6.57inches)inlength.See“System
boardcomponents”onpage38
toidentifythedifferenttypesofPCIcardslotsinyourserver.
6.Removeanypartsordisconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouroperation.
7.RemovethePCIExpresscardslotbracketbyremovingthescrewthatsecuresthemetalbracketand
thenliftingthebracketoutofthechassis.StorethePCIExpresscardslotbracketincaseyoulater
removetheEthernetcardandneedthebrackettocovertheplace.
Note:Carefullyplacetheremovedscrewaside.YouwillneedthescrewlatertosecuretheEthernet
cardinplace.
