Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethesystemboard.
CAUTION:
Theheatsinkandmicroprocessormightbeveryhot.Turnofftheserverandwaitthree
toveminutestolettheservercoolbeforeremovingtheservercover.
Note:Whenreplacingthesystemboard,youmustorderanewretentionmoduleforthenewsystemboard.
Makesureyouhavearetentionmoduleforthenewsystemboardbeforecontinuingthisprocedure.
Toreplacethesystemboard,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage30.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieraccesstothesystemboard.
