Notes:
•IfyouremovetheTR700Battery,youwilllosethebackuppowerfortheThinkServerRAID700Adapter.
•UseanydocumentationthatcomeswiththeTR700Batteryandfollowthoseinstructionsinadditionto
theinstructionsinthistopic.
ToremovetheTR700Battery,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaflat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage75.
4.Removethecoolingshroud.See“Removingandreinstallingthecoolingshroud”onpage79.
5.LocatetheThinkServerRAID700Adapter,whichisinstalledinthePCIExpresscardslotontheriser
cardassembly2.Then,disconnectallcablesfromtheThinkServerRAID700Adapter.
6.Removetherisercardassembly2.Theprocedureissimilartothatoftherisercardassembly1.See
“Replacingtherisercardassembly1”onpage160
.
7.RemovetheThinkServerRAID700Adapterfromtherisercardassembly2.See“Installingorremoving
theRAIDcard”onpage90
.
8.Removethethreescrewsfirst.Then,holdtheTR700BatteryandliftitupfromtheThinkServerRAID
700Adapter.
Note:Centerthescrewdriverwhenyouremovethescrewstoavoidpossibledamagetoanyparts.
