Installing,removing,orreplacinghardware
Thistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstall,remove,orreplacehardwareforyourserver.Youcan
expandthecapabilitiesofyourserverbyaddingnewhardwaredevices,suchasmemorymodulesorother
serveroptions,andmaintainyourserverbyreplacingthefailinghardwaredevices.
Ifyouarehandlingaserveroption,refertotheappropriateinstallationorremovalinstructionsinthistopic
alongwiththeinstructionsthatcomewiththeoption.

coveredoroccupied.WhenyouinstallaninternaldriveoraPCIExpresscard,savetheEMIshieldordummy
trayfromthedrivebayorsavethePCIExpresscardslotbracketincaseyoulaterremovethedevice.
Attention:AnunoccupieddrivebayorPCIExpresscardslotwithoutacover,shield,dummytray,filler,
oranyotherprotectionmightimpacttheEMIintegrityandcoolingoftheserver,whichmightresultin
overheatingorcomponentdamage.
