indicatesthatthehot-swapredundantpowersupplyislikelytofailorhasfailed.Youmightneedto
reinstallorreplaceit.
6.Ifyouareinstructedtoreturntheoldhot-swapredundantpowersupply,followallpackaginginstructions
anduseanypackagingmaterialsthataresuppliedtoyouforshipping.

CAUTION:
Theheatsinkmightbeveryhot.Turnofftheserverandwaitthreetoveminutestolettheserver
coolbeforeremovingtheservercover.
Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Note:Dependingonthemodel,yourservermightlookslightlydifferentfromtheillustrationsinthistopic.
Toinstallorreplaceaheatsink,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage73.
4.Removethecoolingshroud.See“Removingandreinstallingthecoolingshroud”onpage78.
5.Locatetheheatsinkortheplaceforinstallingthesecondheatsink.See“Servercomponents”on
page30.
