WiththeintegratedThinkServerManagementModule(alsoknownastheBMCchip),nomatterwhat
conditiontheserveroperatingsystemisinandnomatteriftheserverisonoroff,aslongastheserver
isconnectedtonetworkandanacpowersource,theinteractionwiththeTMMcontrolledserverscanbe
achievedthroughsystemnetwork.TheusercanobtaintheserverhardwarehealthinformationandSEL,
andisabletoconducttheoperationsincludingturningonorofftheserver,restartingtheserver,andso
on.Thispartoftheservermanagementisindependentoftheoperatingsystemandiscalledout-of-band
management.
