Thistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethesystemboardbattery.
Yourserverhasaspecialtypeofmemorythatmaintainsthedate,time,andcongurationinformationfor
built-infeatures.Thesystemboardbatterykeepstheinformationactivewhenyouturnofftheserver.The
systemboardbatterynormallyrequiresnochargingormaintenancethroughoutitslife;however,nobattery
lastsforever.Ifthesystemboardbatteryfails,thedate,time,andcongurationinformation,including
passwords,arelostandanerrormessageisdisplayedwhenyouturnontheserver.

Dangerofexplosionifbatteryisincorrectlyreplaced.
Whenreplacingthelithiumcoincellbattery,useonlythesameoranequivalenttypethatis
recommendedbythemanufacturer.Thebatterycontainslithiumandcanexplodeifnotproperly
used,handled,ordisposedof.
