Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Notes:
•Dependingonthespecifictype,thePCIecardmightlookdifferentfromtheillustrationinthistopic.
•UseanydocumentationthatcomeswiththePCIecardandfollowthoseinstructionsinadditionto
theinstructionsinthistopic.
ToremoveaPCIecardfromthesystemboard,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage69.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage69.
4.LocatethePCIecardandthenpivotthecardlatchtotheopenposition.Then,graspthePCIecardby
itsedgesandcarefullypullitoutofthePCIeslot.
Note:ThePCIecardmightfittightlyintothePCIeslot.Ifnecessary,alternatemovingeachsideofthe
PCIecardasmallandequalamountuntilitisremovedfromtheslot.
