Attention:Donotopenyourserverorattemptanyrepairbeforereadingandunderstanding“Safetyinformation”

Toaccesssomeoftheservercomponentsonthesystemboard,removethecoolingshroudfirst.Toensure
propercoolingandairflow,reinstallthecoolingshroudbeforeturningontheserver.
Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Toremoveandreinstallthecoolingshroud,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage69.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage69.
4.RemovetheThinkServerRAIDSuperCapacitorModuleifoneisinstalledonthecoolingshroud.See
